		<description>Yeah, I should have noted that, independent of tone issues, the epic fantasy plot didn&#039;t really do anything for me either.  I kept reading to find out what happened next, but I didn&#039;t care a ton what happened to the characters nor was I that excited about the backstory and other world-building things (which is usually one of the things I like about fantasy).</description>

It was probably I figured out that the high fantasy aspects weren&#039;t going to go away, around the time that little girl turned out to be the lost princess of whatever.  I couldn&#039;t keep track of that end of the plot or the characters, mostly because I never gave a crap about it.</description>
